Not only are wood chips attractive ground cover, but they provide beneficial organic material to the soil around shrubs and trees, help the soil retain moisture, and release small amounts of nitrogen and other nutrients as they decompose. We never burn or dispose of wood chips improperly.
You can get free wood chips for your next landscaping project from Atlanta Tree Professionals – and we’ll bring them to you! We only ask that you follow a few simple requirements.

Requirements for delivery of wood chips:

An easily accessible area must be available, as the wood chips are delivered by a large truck. Approximately 20 cubic yards of wood chips will be delivered; the delivery area must be able to accommodate this amount.
Spreading the wood chips is the responsibility of the recipient; Atlanta Tree Professionals will not spread the chips for you.

Mulch is your tree’s lifeline.

Mulch is great for trees because (credit Arbor Day Foundation)

• Keeps the soil insulated against temperature extremes
• Keeps the roots moist so they don’t dry out causing damage or death
• Stops you from running the mower over the root and causing damage to both parties

Where and how much Mulch?

1. First remove the grass within 3-10 foot diameter of the tree base
2. Pour natural mulch such as Atlanta Tree Professionals Free Wood Chips about 2-4 inches deep
3. Try to avoid the mulch touching the actual trunk
