    Termites and some ant species can thrive and damage trees especially termites which can consume cellulose fibers.

    I agree tree care is must, extreme weather, storm damage and hurricane effects the trees. i had experience an incident of storm at birmingham and serveral trees were root out, roads got jam and this whole incident disturbed the normal life of the city then storm damage repair services worked for the city.
