Spring Clean Up
Ahhh, who’s ready for it to look like this outside? Don’t think about the allergies, just
the warm, beautiful weather. We’ve
gotten tastes of the spring, so hopefully it will stop teasing us and decide to
stay soon.
With the spring does come the dreaded spring cleaning,
though, and we at Atlanta Tree Professionals wanted to talk to you about how
you can spring clean by getting you trees prepared for spring weather. This winter has been tough on many of
our trees, so it is important to make sure the trees in your yard are in good
condition. Spring is the peak
season for thunderstorms and if your trees are not healthy, the storms could do
a lot of damage. Many times when a tree falls, it could have been prevented if it had been inspected before the
storms happened. Here are things
that you want to look for that can be potential hazards with your trees:
-
Branches that hang over your home
-
Trees that lean significantly
-
Trees or branches that have a close proximity to
power lines
-
Cracks in the trunks or major limbs of trees
-
Trees that are hollow, aged or decaying
Trees that might have these issues are the ones that will
come down first in a thunderstorm.
Spring thunderstorms can be hard on weak trees for a couple of
reasons. The first is that when
there is heavy rain, the soil gets soaked and the roots of the tree cannot stay
fastened in the ground. The second
reason is the wind. Have you ever
had your umbrella turn inside out when it’s really windy? This is the same effect the wind can
have on your tree “canopy.”
The other issue you need to be aware of with your trees in
the spring is ivy. We all know
here in Georgia how the ivy grows-like crazy! Ivy on your trees can actually add weight to the tops of
your trees, increasing the likelihood of it falling. An easy solution to this is to cut the ivy off. One tip: Don’t pull the ivy off the tree,
but instead cut it at the ground.
This way it will not cause harm to the bark of your tree, but will
instead cut off it’s water supply, which will cause it to wither and fall off
the tree without damage.
If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a thousand times:
Proper maintenance to your trees is so important! Proper pruning can reduce the wind sail and reduce the
likelihood of property damage by a tree.
On the flip side, improper pruning can make trees more vulnerable to the effects of a storm, so please leave it to
the experts, like Atlanta Tree Professionals. We will help you figure out the best plan for your trees to
keep your family and property safe.
Right now, we have a great special going on: You can get
$100 off of $500 or more of tree work.
Additionally, if you refer a friend and we do the work on their trees,
you can earn another $100 off.

I am considering having an old oak tree removed. What does that typically cost? Probably a silly question, but, will the tree grow back once removed? Does that not occur when all the roots are removed?

ReplyDeleteWhen I wanted a tree from my yard to be gone after twenty years of strong growth I knew I needed to call a professional. Removing a tree may seem simple at first, but if you can manage to get through the rough trunk you still have to deal with the roots which burrow deeply into the earth looking for moisture. A tree is not an easy project no matter how many hands you have.

This time of year is crucial for your yard. Proper care of your trees and other plants will help your yard look great. As it is warming up, you'll want to spend more time outside. That time spent will be more enjoyable if you don't have the added stress of an unkempt yard.

Now that it's spring, my parents are getting ready to trim up their tree's and they couldn't be more excited about it. The start of spring is like the new year for the seasons. It's a chance to start fresh and get things all cleaned up from the long winter.

I have been looking for a company in my are that does tree trimming services. That would be really nice and is definitely something that I have been looking for for awhile now. I do not want to risk doing it myself and cause problems.

I wish some of my neighbors would call a tree trimmer to take care of their trees. I spend more time walking on the road than the sidewalk because the trees are overgrown. Also, when it's windy branches are always falling off and flying everywhere. It's dangerous.

I really messed up this year on trimming my trees. I want to fix it but I think my only chance is by grafting new branches. Is that even possible for some peach trees? http://www.dariotreetrimming.com/Stump_Grinding_Yard_Cleanups_Sylmar_CA.html
ReplyDeleteI know of a few trees on my property that could use tree care. Some are getting old and need to come down and some are just getting too big and need to be trimmed. I think it will be easier to get a professional to do the work rather than attempting it myself.

I can't wait for it to look like this outside. I love the spring weather. The spring clean up is definitely the worse part though. My wife and I decided to cut down our tree this year too. I think I am going to hire professionals to do it so I don't mess anything up.

I have a huge tree in my front yard that needs to be removed! Well, I don't know if I should remove it completely or just trim it. It is a part of my home but I don't want it to become too much a part of it and fall over on it! That's where were headed if I don't do something quick!

I have a huge tree in my back yard and the branches are hanging over the house. It worries me to have those over my house not knowing when they will fall. I will have to call a tree trimming business to get rid of them.

I'm thinking of removing one of the trees in front of my yard. there's a power line that's a hair too close to the tree. It's close enough that a fire could easily start if I don't constantly trim the branches. I've been more busy than usual, so I don't really have time to trim the trees, and I don't want to spend money on a contractor to trim the tree. I think that removing it may be my best option.

I never really know what to do with my trees in the spring to get them to produce the most fruit. We always trim them down at the end of the summer hoping that this will help them grow better when spring comes. Maybe I'll just have to start getting a professional tree service to come out and help us out. http://www.talltimbertree.ca
ReplyDeleteI always make sure my trees are pruned and ready for when spring time comes. I feel like trying to get it done in the spring like everyone else would be hard because all the tree services are busy. I try and get them to come later in the year so that I don't have to wait as long. It pays off for me because I get my trees done.
ReplyDeleteZach Thalman | http://www.truecaretreeservice.com/services.html
There are some trees that really need some pruning done. They are starting to wilt on the sides. I'm not sure why they are breaking down. I just hope that nobody gets hit by a branch. http://www.davis-tree-service.com
ReplyDeleteI have always wondered if it would be a good time to get my trees removed and trimmed in the spring or not. I have a few trees I am not too happy about. One of them is a sapling that sprouted from the neighbors tree. I thought it would die in the winter, but it ended up living and now is causing problems with the fence. I am really hoping to get it removed so my fence doesn't have any future problems.

It's a good idea to take care of branches that hang over your house. I had a tree next to our garage and had watched it grow over our house for ten years. One night, a storm came in and blew the branch off the tree, onto my roof, and then onto my Expedition. It was a real nightmare that I wish I would have taken care of years ago. http://www.yarnelltreeohio.com/services

I haven't cut mine far enough down. It seems I should be cutting them at ground level not the few inches above that I have done as you can see.

Some clean-up projects may take a few weekends. Survey your backyard and make a list of things you'd like to improve.
ReplyDeleteThe list may include items such as repainting the shed, fixing cracked walkways,
putting in a new garden, repainting the fence and installing features such as a fountain or pond.

Actually trees always need special care otherwise they can be problematic in some situations. A professional company can easily help us to deal with such problems and make our life more easy. We should look for a experienced company for tree care rather choosing any random company.
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I have been thinking about hiring a tree removal company to come and remove a tree in our yard. We have a giant tree with a branch that hangs over our house and after reading this article I realized how dangerous that is. So we need to find someone that would be able to remove that for us so that nothing bad happens. http://www.scottlanestreesrv.com

ReplyDeleteOne of the branches on my tree broke off after a huge storm that hit my town last night, so now I feel like I should know more about these warning signs that there could be a potential hazard with my trees. I have a few branches that hang over my home. I'm lucky that they didn't break off and land on my roof last night. I should hire an arborist to trim my branches so that my home and family will be safe in case there's another storm soon. Thanks for posting this!
